Enhanced Privacy: Threads Users Gain Control Over Instagram and Facebook Visibility

Meta has reportedly begun the gradual rollout of a new feature for Threads users, providing them with increased control over the visibility of their posts on Instagram and Facebook.

Multiple Threads users have shared their discovery of a new option that allows them to opt-out of having their posts suggested or displayed on Instagram and/or Facebook.

According to reports, Meta is progressively introducing this new Threads feature to all users.

To prevent Threads posts from appearing on other Meta platforms, users can navigate to the Threads app’s top right corner, tap the two lines, select Privacy, and then toggle the option for suggesting posts on other apps.

Simultaneously, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri has unveiled several new features on the web version of Threads. This includes the introduction of the copy and paste option for media attachments and the ability to add multiple posts to a thread before publishing.

Users now have the convenience of copying and pasting or using drag-and-drop functionality for media attachments. They can also compile multiple posts into a thread before making it public.

Moreover, Mosseri highlighted that users can now view quotes and reposts by clicking into likes or views on a post.

Meta’s Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, shared that Threads has surpassed 100 million monthly active users.

Mosseri additionally mentioned ongoing efforts to develop a Threads application programming interface (API) to empower developers in creating diverse apps and experiences around the platform. He acknowledged concerns about a potential influx of publisher content but stressed the importance of advancing this development.

In a related post, Mosseri assured users that Instagram is actively working on implementing the Threads API feature, recognizing the necessity of accomplishing this task.
